<image:title>The Blog - Places that feel like summer: l’Hotel La Pérouse - Rather than chase coastal clichés, Friedmann & Versace leaned into texture and restraint. Stone floors, raw linen, hand-plastered walls — the palette is subdued but sensual, like the landscape itself. The rooms feel carved from light and silence, with curved alcoves, terracotta tones, and vintage nods that evoke Riviera glamour without the pastiche.</image:title>
<image:caption>There’s an undeniable romance to this hotel’s geography: carved into the cliffs, overlooking the Baie des Anges, shaded by lemon trees. Every window frames a view that could be a painting. It's a masterclass in place-making — honoring the drama of the setting while offering moments of deep stillness.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Embracing Soft Geometry: A Parisian Apartment's Journey to Warm Minimalism - Central to Dru's design is the reimagining of the apartment's layout into a radial, star-like configuration. This approach introduces gentle curves and rounded rooms, creating an enveloping atmosphere that soothes the senses. The absence of sharp edges allows the eye to flow seamlessly through the space, fostering a sense of calm and continuity.</image:title>
<image:caption>The interiors are adorned with a palette of creams and whites, carefully selected to avoid the sterility often associated with minimalism. Walls and ceilings are coated in mineral plaster, offering a subtle texture that catches the light, reminiscent of soft, silky cream. This tactile backdrop is complemented by materials like Sainte-Croix stone and Chantilly parquet, whose contrasting finishes enhance each other's natural beauty. Furnishings within the apartment reflect an eclectic yet cohesive aesthetic. In the living room, a Trani travertine coffee table by Stéphane Parmentier is flanked by 1955 A.R.P. armchairs from Galerie Pascal Cuisinier. Custom-lacquered wooden benches designed by Dru herself sit beneath round alabaster sconces by Alain Ellouz, adding layers of warmth and sophistication. The dining area continues this dialogue of textures and eras, featuring a custom-lacquered table surrounded by Spanish Renaissance chairs and 1930s-inspired Chinese double doors. An Oslo L1P alabaster pendant light by Alain Ellouz casts a gentle glow over the space, highlighting the careful curation of objects that bridge different periods and styles.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - No, You Don’t Need a Huge Apartment to Have Main Character Energy</image:title>
<image:caption>1. Create a Focal Point: That bold velvet chair, a gallery wall, or even a funky mirror. Give the eye somewhere to land and the room will feel designed, not cramped. 2. Lighting is Drama: Swap out that boring overhead fixture for a statement piece. Unexpected light sources, floor lamps, sconces — layer them for ambiance. 3. Use Your Corners: Create cozy nooks. A chair, a throw, a side table = reading corner magic. Corners are not dead space, they’re opportunity. 4. Go Big on Art: Large-scale art makes a space feel expansive. Don’t be afraid to take up wall space with something expressive. 5. Mirror, Mirror: Mirrors bounce light and make spaces look bigger. Plus, they’re great for dramatic outfit checks.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Crafting your homes signature scent - 1. Layer Your Scents: Start with a base (a candle, incense, or diffuser) and complement it with fresh herbs, essential oil sprays, or even linen mists. Think cozy, not overwhelming.</image:title>
<image:caption>2. Kitchen Aromatics: Simmer pots are your secret weapon. Toss orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and rosemary into a pot and let your whole home transform. 3. Signature Spaces: Assign a scent to each room. Lavender in the bedroom, citrus in the kitchen, sandalwood in the office — give each zone its own vibe. 4. Go Natural: Avoid synthetic overkill. Opt for beeswax candles or essential oils to keep it real and low-tox. 5. Make It A Ritual: Scent should be part of your daily routine. Lighting a candle in the morning or spritzing your throw pillows before bed sets a mindful tone.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - What caught my eye at PAD 2025 - Maison Intègre’s Bronze Rhythms of West African Craft</image:title>
<image:caption>Maison Intègre brought the spirit of Burkina Faso to PAD Paris with a striking display rooted in the ancestral art of bronze casting. Working closely with local artisans from a Ouagadougou-based foundry, the gallery presented a collection that celebrated both heritage and modernity. The pieces, sculptural yet utilitarian, radiated a quiet strength — their hand-patinated surfaces capturing the warmth of human touch. Juxtaposed against a minimal backdrop, each object stood as a totem of cultural continuity, turning traditional savoir-faire into contemporary relics. The result was a space that honored origin while forging a bold, tactile design language all its own.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - What caught my eye at PAD 2025 - Galerie Chastel Maréchal’s Timeless Dialogue Between Sculpture and Decorative Arts</image:title>
<image:caption>Galerie Chastel Maréchal presented a scene steeped in historic elegance, where the poetic sensibility of mid-20th-century design took center stage. Anchoring the vignette was Le Cerf Couché by Janine Janet, a 1966 sculptural piece that radiates both mythic calm and organic fluidity. It was gracefully paired with a rare cabinet by André Arbus, circa 1940, elevated by bronze elements sculpted by Vadim Androusov — a collaboration that speaks to the golden era of French decorative arts. Together, these masterworks formed a dialogue between form and function, artistry and craftsmanship, reminding viewers of design’s enduring power to embody narrative and nobility.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - What caught my eye at PAD 2025 - Galerie JAG’s Harmonious Dialogue of Texture and Form</image:title>
<image:caption>Galerie JAG presented a quietly poetic tableau where natural materials and sculptural forms created a refined, earthy sanctuary. Anchored by a woven credenza and flanked by organic stone-textured lamps, the space evoked both coastal serenity and timeless craftsmanship. A trio of botanical panels by Shinsuke Kawahara above served as ethereal windows into nature’s delicacy, while the central stone sculpture and raw, iron-framed coffee table grounded the room in primal elegance. Every object — from the curved, mid-century chairs to the coral-like centerpiece — contributed to a setting that felt both collected and deeply soulful.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Animal Hospital Redefined - Collaborating with hospital owner Danielle Scheinberg, Wearstler aimed to create a space that feels like an extension of home. The design features a softly hued lobby, a pink-tiled hydrotherapy pool, and custom terrazzo floors, all chosen to convey serenity. Artisanal touches, such as a hand-painted mural by Marina Williams and ceramic benches by Kelsie Rudolph, enhance the carefully curated interiors.</image:title>
<image:caption>Wearstler's approach challenges traditional healthcare design norms, introducing rich materiality and a layered, multisensory experience. She emphasizes the importance of creating environments where both pets and their owners feel calm and cared for, stating, "I wanted to push the boundaries of traditional healthcare design, creating a beautiful tension between medical innovation and residential warmth." King Animal Hospital stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful design in healthcare settings, offering a haven where emotional well-being is valued alongside medical excellence.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - The Allure of Asymmetrical Nightstands - Perfect symmetry can sometimes feel too predictable. By introducing asymmetrical nightstands, you inject a touch of spontaneity and artistry. <image:caption>1. Why Go Asymmetrical? Visual Interest Perfect symmetry can sometimes feel too predictable. By introducing asymmetrical nightstands, you inject a touch of spontaneity and artistry. The contrast in shape, height, or color invites the eye to explore the space, creating a focal point that sparks conversation. Personalization Asymmetry can reflect the individuality of the people using the bedroom. Perhaps one side has a stack of favorite books and a small sculpture, while the other houses a sleek lamp and a minimal vase. This variation can speak to your personal style—or that of you and your partner—making the room feel curated rather than cookie-cutter. Design Flexibility With asymmetrical nightstands, there’s no strict need to match. You can mix materials (like wood on one side and metal on the other), experiment with different shapes, or play with proportions. This creative freedom opens up countless possibilities to tailor the bedroom to your taste.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>The Blog - The Allure of Asymmetrical Nightstands - With asymmetrical nightstands, there’s no strict need to match. You can mix materials, experiment with different shapes, or play with proportions. This creative freedom opens up countless possibilities to tailor the bedroom to your taste.</image:title>
<image:caption>2. Drawing Inspiration from the References Warm, Monochromatic Minimalism In one of the reference images, the bedroom features a muted, monochromatic color palette—soft beige walls, a neutral headboard, and plush bedding. On one side, there’s a built-in or integrated tray extending from the bed, while on the other, there’s a tall sculptural lamp in a rich, metallic finish. The height and shape of the lamp contrast with the low, rectangular tray, resulting in a deliberately unbalanced yet harmonious composition. This demonstrates how asymmetry can bring life to an otherwise subdued color scheme. Sleek Modern Edge Another reference showcases a sleek platform bed with a brushed metal frame. One side has a simple, blocky nightstand with a bold lamp, while the other side features a floating shelf-like extension. The materials are consistent in their modern, polished look, but their shapes and sizes vary. This approach proves that asymmetry can be achieved even when the overall style is very streamlined and contemporary. Warm Wood Tones and Geometric Forms In a more minimal, wood-accented bedroom, the headboard extends into a partial wraparound nightstand on one side. The other side appears smaller or differently shaped, with a petite lamp perched on top. The asymmetry here is subtle but noticeable, especially since the wood grain and the proportions on each side don’t match exactly. This gently unbalanced look keeps the space cozy and intimate while still feeling intentional.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/66dde81d5280ae19855fc47d/170fa78b-f1e9-4910-9235-8f6fce8d1a27/dc4a679a625c627df3102d72bc94008e.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>The Blog - The Allure of Asymmetrical Nightstands - If you’re mixing two distinct nightstands—say, one in dark wood and the other in brushed brass—introduce subtle elements that tie them together. This could be a shared color in the lamp shades or decorative objects. A cohesive element ensures the design remains purposeful rather than random.</image:title>
<image:caption>Although the furniture pieces themselves may not match, you can still create visual balance by using complementary accessories. For instance, if one side has a bold sculpture, the other might showcase a smaller piece of art or a unique vase to maintain interest without mirroring. Lighting is crucial in the bedroom. Asymmetrical setups can mean you have two completely different types of lamps. To keep it functional, ensure each side still has sufficient task lighting, especially if you read in bed or need extra illumination at night.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/66dde81d5280ae19855fc47d/8162609a-f405-4ff9-b571-1d4ce2cbc9a9/ff6e81f3b7eb226e996f50ad474e8c7d.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>The Blog - The Allure of Asymmetrical Nightstands - Let the bed be the main focal point. Your nightstands should enhance rather than compete with it. Consider the headboard style, bed frame materials, and overall color palette.</image:title>
<image:caption>4. Tips for Making It Work Start Subtle: If you’re new to asymmetry, opt for pieces that are similar in style but differ slightly in size or color. This will ease you into the look without overwhelming the space. Use the Bed as a Anchor: Let the bed be the main focal point. Your nightstands should enhance rather than compete with it. Consider the headboard style, bed frame materials, and overall color palette. Plan Your Layout: Think about the function of each side. Do you want storage drawers on one side but not the other? Will you need a surface for a reading lamp on both sides? Plan for these practical needs before selecting your asymmetrical pieces. Stick to a Cohesive Palette: While the shapes and finishes might differ, try to keep an overarching color scheme or theme. A consistent palette helps unify the design. 5. Final Thoughts Asymmetrical nightstands are a fantastic way to break the norm and add character to your bedroom. By carefully choosing contrasting pieces—or customizing built-in elements that differ on each side—you create a look that feels unique, intentional, and utterly modern. The reference images show that asymmetry can be bold and sculptural, or it can be subtle and understated; either way, it leaves a lasting impression. If you’re looking to refresh your bedroom design, consider incorporating asymmetry in your nightstands. It’s a simple but impactful strategy that celebrates individuality and creative expression—proving that sometimes, it’s the unexpected details that make the biggest statement.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Medieval Modern: A Fusion of History and Contemporary Elegance</image:title>
<image:caption>For me, the true art of Medieval Modern is in its storytelling. Each element, from a minimalist iron chandelier to a weathered stone backsplash, speaks of bygone eras without overshadowing the modern functionality of the space. It’s as if these design elements are conversing: the old telling tales of resilience and craftsmanship, the new offering a counterpoint of clarity and efficiency. The result is a home that doesn’t just function as a living space but becomes a living narrative—rich, layered, and continually unfolding. In a world that often values the new over the old, embracing a Medieval Modern style is a subtle act of rebellion. It celebrates the idea that beauty is not confined to a specific era but can be found in the dialogue between the past and the present. It reminds us that our surroundings can be a bridge between what once was and what can be, infusing everyday life with a sense of history and wonder. So, whether you’re drawn to the imposing presence of medieval architecture or the crisp lines of modern minimalism—or perhaps both—consider how these elements might converse within your own space. The trend isn’t about adhering to a strict set of rules; it’s about exploring a dynamic interplay that feels both timeless and startlingly fresh.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Interior Design Trends to expect in 2025 - Characterised by natural materials, earthy tones, and handcrafted forms that connect with nature, organic volumes are exemplified by South American designer Rafael Triboli with his soulful, sculptural furniture crafted from Brazil’s dark, native woods like mahogany and imbuia.</image:title>
<image:caption>During the pandemic, Triboli transitioned from scenography to collectible design, finding inspiration in artists like Donald Judd and Eileen Gray. His work blends smooth yet raw textures with spiritual motifs, incorporating carved patterns and bronze inlays he likens to amulets. Each piece exudes warmth and grounded elegance, from minimalist daybeds to intricate cabinets.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Interior Design Trends to expect in 2025 - Art Deco elegance returns in 2025 with the Orient Express Corinthian, a 220-meter sailing yacht blending 1930s glamour with modern innovation. Designed by Maxime d’Angeac, its interiors feature wood, leather, and marble crafted by master artisans. Panoramic suites, speakeasy-style bars, and Art Deco-inspired cabaret spaces exude timeless sophistication.</image:title>
<image:caption>Powered by 4,500 square meters of sails, the yacht achieves sustainable luxury while offering a uniquely refined travel experience. This maritime marvel encapsulates Art Deco’s spirit of innovation and elegance, marking its grand comeback this year.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Interior Design Trends to expect in 2025 - Earthy tones continue to dominate, as seen in the growing acclaim for Shane Gabier’s ceramics. Gabier, a former fashion designer, has gained widespread attention for his richly textured pieces inspired by Modernist design, ’70s psychedelia, and Brutalist architecture. His creations, from seahorse-shaped sconces to geometric soap dispensers, balance functionality with artistic expression, embodying the enduring appeal of natural hues.</image:title>
<image:caption>For 2025, Gabier plans to delve deeper into larger interior projects, exploring tiles and ceramics that celebrate earthy palettes. These tones remain a design favorite for their ability to ground spaces while offering versatility and timelessness. The enduring popularity of these shades proves they’re more than a trend — they’re a staple of thoughtful, contemporary design.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Interior Design Trends to expect in 2025 - Lacquer merges timeless tradition with modern aesthetics. French studio Garnier & Linker’s new Kami collection exemplifies this resurgence, featuring furniture wrapped in Japanese urushi lacquer. Inspired by Kyoto’s Kitayama cedar, the designers blend French craftsmanship with Japanese techniques, echoing historic collaborations like those of Jean Dunand and Seizo Sugawara.</image:title>
<image:caption>The glossy, durable finish of lacquer adds depth and elegance to furniture, making it a statement to any space. Its ability to bridge cultural and design traditions ensures its lasting appeal in contemporary interiors.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Blog - Interior Design Trends to expect in 2025 - Textured walls are redefining interior, as seen in New York’s chic Soho hotel, The Manner. Designed by Verena Haller and Hannes Peer, the hotel’s lobby features standout textured walls with teal and cream semi-spheres, creating depth and character. Columns wrapped in relief tiles and a concrete fireplace with a bronze flue add to the tactile appeal.</image:title>
<image:caption>Throughout the hotel, rich materials like velvet, lacquer, and metal create a playful yet sophisticated atmosphere. Textured walls showcase how bold surfaces can elevate spaces with unique, dynamic designs. This brings personality and warmth to modern interiors, making it a must-try for any design enthusiast.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Diego Giacometti has, according to our knowledge, produced five screens. For a Parisian apartment, the artist created and delivered a staircase, coffee tables, chairs, door handles and a set of four screens including this piece. The four screens replaced the balustrades overlooking the drawing-room and were placed next to each other, thus concealing the night quarters on the first floor. From the living room one could simply look up to see a succession of animals and leaves running everywhere.</image:caption>
